Oak Ridge Lions Scholars for 2002 Named

Scholarship Committee Chairman Lion Bob Gray presented the winners of the 2002 Oak Ridge Lions Scholarships (including the Howell Scholarship) to the club at the April 22 meeting. Each year the Oak Ridge Lions Club awards scholarships to deserving seniors in the Oak Ridge High School graduating class. The five winners for 2002 were chosen from 107 applicants. They are Tiffany McGavin, Amanda Edmondson, Shanna Baker, Dessislava Yankova, and Marie Pippin. The winners and their families were treated to dinner with the Oak Ridge Lions. The students discussed their educational plans and how they would use the scholarship awards.
